About Us

"Data are the lifeblood of decision-making and the raw material for accountability"

- (UN Data Revolution Group, 2014)

        In response to growing calls for better data on migration, and better use and presentation of migration data, IOM created a Global Migration Data Analysis Centre (GMDAC), located in Berlin, Germany.

       As a global hub for data and statistics on migration, GMDAC aims to:

                • Promote the sharing, understanding and use of international migration data;

                • Enhance IOM’s efforts to build the data capacities of Member states and Observers;

                • Provide timely data and fact-based analysis on global migration trends and policies.
